Air-Dry Clay

You Will Need:

• air-dry clay

• rolling pin

• lace or stamp

• heart-shaped cookie cutter

• straw or kebab skewer

• plastic knife

• craft paint

• paintbrush

• scrap paper

Instructions:

1 Take only the clay you will be using out of the packaging and seal the rest in an airtight container or bag. 

2 Roll out the clay evenly with the rolling pin. If you want a pattern on the clay it will be best to do the imprint now.

3 Place the lace or stamp onto the rolled-out clay and roll over the lace or stamp with the rolling pin to make the imprint.

4 Place the cookie cutter over the section of the imprint of your choice and press the cutter into the clay.

5 Make a hole at the top of the heart with a piece of straw or a kebab skewer.

6 Remove the excess clay from around the cutter.

7 Press the clay heart out of the cutter and loosen from the work surface.

8 Leave to dry overnight.

9 When dry, use the craft paint and paintbrush to dry brush the heart so the imprint will be more defined. (Blot the paintbrush on the scrap paper to remove excess paint, if necessary.)
