Cabbage Slaw & Onion Rings Expresso

Cabbage Slaw & Onion Rings
Recipe by SJ Koortzen from Kgalagadi Lodge
Onion Rings
1 large onion cut into thick rings
330ml beer
1 cup flour
Fine salt and pepper to taste
750ml oil (sunflower oil) 
In a mixing bowl sift flour salt and pepper, then add beer slowly.
Batter must not be too thick or thin, it must be tough but runny.
Heat the oil in a small pot.
Dip onion rings in batter and deep fry until golden brown
Cabbage Slaw
100 g of green cabbage, cut thinly
100g red cabbage, cut thinly
1 tsp mustard powder
1 cup mayonnaise
3 Tbsp condensed milk
2 Tbsp white vinegar
1 tsp of onion salt
Salt and pepper to taste.
Mix everything together and leave to stand.
(cabbage slaw can be prepared up to 2 days before the time)
