Chocolate Fondants

Makes 6

 

Ingredients:

  • 100g dark chocolate
  • 100g butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 85g Selati Castor Snow
  • 100g Sasko Cake flour
  • 2 Tbs cocoa powder
  • Pinch salt

Method:

 

  1. Melt the chocolate and butter gently over Bain Marie.
  2. Whip the sugar and eggs until triple in size.
  3. Sieve the flour, cocoa and salt together.
  4. Fold the chocolate mix and the dry ingredients into the eggs alternately.
  5. Grease and cocoa powder 6 dariole moulds.
  6. Fill greased dariole moulds with the fondant mixture and allow to rest in the fridge until ready to bake.
  7. Bake at 180°C for 10 - 11 minutes.
  8. Loosen the edges of the fondant from the mould to release then serve turned out on a plate.
  9. Serve with vanilla ice cream.

Tip: This can also be baked and served in ramekins.
