Crocheting with a Fork
Get to grips with the basics of knitting by using a basic fork. No fancy tools required. You will produce long strings of colourful knitting that can be used to make fun accessories like a funky armband.
What do we do?
It’s very easy to do! Take your fork and secure the wool (with with your thumb) against the front of the fork. Thread the wool through the middle gap of the fork. Then wrap the wool in ‘a figure of eight’ starting on the right, then repeat one more time. Then lift the bottom ‘stitch’ on the fork over the top stitch and off the fork – repeat the other side. Repeat the ‘figure of eight’ and lift the bottom stitch (right side then left). Repeat.
What can we make with the fork knitting technique?
We can make a chunky armband, by roughly knotting the ready-made rope/yarn. You can also wrap the strands around your favourite coffee cup or even wind it up in a circle to make a fun coaster.
