Easy Fruit Crumble

Serves

Ingredients: 

  • 750g seasonal fruit (plums, apricots, strawberries, berries, pears etc.)
  • ¼ cup castor sugar
  • 60g butter, chilled and cubed
  • ½ cup self-raising flour
  • ¾ cup rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup Muscovado sugar
  • 2 slices Sasko Oats and Honey loaf, torn into small pieces
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Ice cream, custard or cream, to serve

Method: 

  1. Preheat oven to 180C and lightly grease 6 small ovenproof dishes.
  2. Thinly slice the fruit and place in a saucepan. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved. Cover and cook for 5 minutes or until the fruit is tender but still holds its shape.
  3. Remove from the heat and spoon into the ovenproof dishes.
  4. Rub the butter into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs then stir in the oats, brown sugar, breadcrumbs, cinnamon and honey.
  5. Spoon the crumble over the fruit and bake for 25 – 30 minutes or until golden. Serve with ice cream, cream or custard.
