Easy Fruit Crumble
Serves
Ingredients:
- 750g seasonal fruit (plums, apricots, strawberries, berries, pears etc.)
- ¼ cup castor sugar
- 60g butter, chilled and cubed
- ½ cup self-raising flour
- ¾ cup rolled oats
- 1/3 cup Muscovado sugar
- 2 slices Sasko Oats and Honey loaf, torn into small pieces
- 1 tbsp honey
- Ice cream, custard or cream, to serve
Method:
- Preheat oven to 180C and lightly grease 6 small ovenproof dishes.
- Thinly slice the fruit and place in a saucepan. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved. Cover and cook for 5 minutes or until the fruit is tender but still holds its shape.
- Remove from the heat and spoon into the ovenproof dishes.
- Rub the butter into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs then stir in the oats, brown sugar, breadcrumbs, cinnamon and honey.
- Spoon the crumble over the fruit and bake for 25 – 30 minutes or until golden. Serve with ice cream, cream or custard.
