Hot Masala Lentil Cakes with Minted Yoghurt

Hot Masala Lentil Cakes with Minted Yogurt

Makes +- 8
 
1 Cup Black lentils cooked (not mooshie but al dente)
½ Cup Chopped onion
1 Green chilli, chopped
7.5ml Strong masala
¼ Cup Chopped cilantro
½ Cup Flour  (if you want gluten free you can use chickpea flour)
4 Tbsp Water (45 ml)
Big pinch of salt
Oil (for frying)
 
For serving:
1 Cup Double thick yogurt
Handful of chopped mint
Squeeze of lemon juice
 
Mix all the ingredients together. Make patties and shallow fry until golden brown and crispy on the outside.  Serve with lemon wedges and minted yogurt.
 
TIPS:
Use cookie cutter to make perfectly round patties
Oil a plate and make the patties on the plate – easier to scoop into pan
