National Book Day Crafts
This week is National Book Week. In celebration of all things reading, literature and books- Ideas Magazine shows us to make beautiful crafty things using books and letters.
Glasses with letters
Make it easy for each guest to keep track of where their glass is. We have all been at a dinner party or event with a wine glass in hand, we put it down, and lose track of where we left it. With this easy craft-we can personalise our wine glasses-so we never lose them again!
Materials
- wooden Scrabble tiles
- jump rings that fit around the stem of
- the glass
- jewellery eye pins (or make your own
- using thin wire)
- wire cutter
- hand drill with thin drill bit
- epoxy glue
- toothpick
Step-by-step
- Sort out all the Scrabble tiles you want to use. Use a hand drill to drill a tiny hole in the centre of the top edge of each tile. We used a 1mm drill bit.
- Cut the eye pins with a wire cutter – each one should just fit into the holes you drilled in step 1.
- Mix a little epoxy glue. Use a toothpick to put a tiny amount of glue in each hole. Insert the eye pin, then leave to dry.
- Press a jump ring through each eyelet, then fasten to the glasses.
