Paarl Boys' Cantare Group

Paarl Boys’ High Cantare Group

The Cantare group of Paarl Boys’ High was only established two years ago but made a roaring debut at local eisteddfods and concerts. They are regular performers at Art Festivals like the Woordfees in Stellenbosch and the Tulbagh Arts Festival, where they had the audience on their feet with a production of the songs of Eugene Marais. Last year they were also part of the group that won the trophy for best Culture School at the Kaleidoskoop National Schools Festival in George.

The group consists of high school boys, aged between 14 – 18, all from Paarl Boys’ High school.

Stéfan van Hansen, previously under tuition of world famous organist Roucher du Toit, takes great pride in these boys and their repertoire stretches from solemn Classical to arranged acoustic pop and ballad style.
