"This table setting was inspired my best friend Tatum, who took me to Babylonstoren which is one of the oldest Cape Dutch Farms in Stellenbosch.  They grow a variety of fruit, vegetables, plants and flowers based on old African traditional techniques.  There way of life there is peaceful, organic, natural, and breath taking beautiful.

And you can see that translated through their farm lands, gardens, orchards, hotel, and restaurant.

Today we have an Organic table themed party.  It's about keeping things simple and natural.  All of the plants and herbs were picked out of the gardens of Babylonstoren....and what is special about them is that these are all found in a typical South African garden. For example, there is thyme, rosemary, guava tree leaves..etc.

I wanted this to be an incentive for people to stay away from the run of the mill store bought flowers and putting them in vases on their tables, and to rather go and look what they find visually appealing in their gardens...you can use anything...we are even using a whole beetroot..."
