Souvlaki with Tzatziki
Serves 4
For the souvlaki:
Ingredients:
- 1kg chicken or pork or lamb, cubed
- Salt and pepper
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- 4 Tbs olive oil
- Sosatie sticks
For the tzatziki:
Ingredients:
- 1kg thick Greek yogurt
- 2 grated cucumbers (strained through a sieve)
- 1 clove grated garlic
- Salt to taste
- 3 tsp olive oil (optional)
Method:
- Season the meat with salt, pepper, lemon zest, juice and olive oil.
- Skewer the meat on the sticks then cook on the braai or in a hot griddle pan.
- Make the tzatziki by mixing the yoghurt, cucumbers and garlic in a bowl and seasoning with salt and olive oil.
- Serve the skewers with the tzatziki on the side.
