Sticky Sausages In Beer With Coleslaw
Serves 4
Ingredients:
- 15g butter
- 4 onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp sugar
- 400g Enterprise Traditional Country Sausages
- 1 Tbs flour
- 1 sprig thyme
- 1 can beer
- ½ cup beef stock
- Splash of Worcestershire sauce
Coleslaw
Ingredients:
- ½ small red cabbage, shredded
- 1 carrot, peeled and grated
- Handful mixed sprouts
- 2 tsp horseradish cream
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 Tbs lemon juice
- 1 Tbs Dijon mustard
Method:
- Melt the butter and stir through the onions, cover with a lid and cook for 10 minutes or until softened. Remove lid, add sugar, then cook for 15-20 minutes or until golden and sticky.
- Fry the sausages for 15 minutes or until browned and keep warm. Add the onions, then flour and stir for 1 minute. Add thyme, beer and stock and simmer for 5 minutes. Add Worcestershire sauce, season and serve with sausages.
- Make the coleslaw by mixing all the ingredients together. Serve with the sausages.
