Strawberry Scone Cake
Ingredients:
- 500g Sasko Quick Treats Scone mix
- 90g Stork Bake
- 1 extra-large egg
- 140ml milk
- 1 punnet strawberries or other berries
- 100g Selati castor snow
- 500ml ready-made custard
- 1 cup fresh cream, whipped
Method:
- Place the Sasko Quick Treats Scone Mix in a bowl and rub in the butter.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and milk together.
- Using a butter knife, incorporate the egg mixture into the scone mixture to form a soft dough. Do not overmix.
- Spray or grease a large baking tray and press the dough out into a large circle on the tray, making an indentation in the middle.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 200C for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Cool on a wire rack.
- Toss the berries in the castor sugar. Pour the custard over the cake, arrange the berries on top, slice and serve with whipped cream.
