Vienna Stokbrood With Tomato Smoor
Makes 4
Ingredients:
- 500g Sasko self-raising flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 340ml can of beer
- 50ml water
- 1 Tbs chopped thyme
- 1 packet Enterprise viennas
- Sesame seeds, for sprinkling
Method:
- Place the flour in a bowl and mix in the salt.
- Stir in the beer, water and thyme to form a stiff dough.
- Break off into pieces and roll into long sausages.
- Place the Enterprise viennas on long metal skewers and wrap a long sausage of dough around each Vienna. Brush with a little water and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Hold the sticks over the open fire and bake until golden and cooked through.
- Serve with tomato smoor.
- To make your own smoor: sauté 1 finely chopped onion with a crushed garlic clove in oil until soft. Add 2 tins chopped tomatoes and a tsp of dried oregano, Season to taste.
