How To Make Milk Tart Spring Rolls
- Milk tart filling: In a saucepan combine half the milk, margarine and vanilla essence.
- Bring to a gentle simmer.
- In a bowl whisk the egg, add the flour, cornflour, remaining milk, sugar and salt until combined.
- Slowly temper the hot milk into the egg mixture.
- Add the mixture back into the saucepan and whisk until the mixture thickens.
- Once thickened, pour the mixture into a bowl and cover with plastic wrap directly touching the mixture and cool completely.
- To make the spring rolls add about 2-3 tablespoons of the milk tart filling in the center of the pastry and roll up to close off the filling.
- Seal the edges with some water.
- Brush the spring rolls with some oil to give them a crispier texture.
- Place in the air fryer on 180°C and cook for 4-6 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
