Mexican Beef Tacos

Taco Tuesday with a twist!

Recipe by Cape Herb & Spice

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons Cape Herb & Spice Taco Spice
  • 500g minced beef
  • 1 tin whole peeled tomatoes, chopped

Optional:

  • 1 tin corn/kidney beans/black beans

How To Make Mexican Beef Tacos

  1. Heat the oil in a heavy based saucepan then add the onion and sauté until lightly coloured.
  2. Add the spice blend followed by the beef and fry on a high heat for 5-minutes or until browned.
  3. Reduce to a medium heat, add the tomatoes and simmer for 15-minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Include one of the tin options and heat through.
  5. Assemble your tacos by filling with the beef and garnishing with finely chopped lettuce, fresh chilli, cucumber and a dollop of cream cheese
