*Key consideration: This position would require you to be at the studio for the live show from 5:30am Monday to Friday. Having your own transport is essential.

Cardova is a fast-growing lifestyle media company based in Cape Town and Johannesburg which produces various advertiser funded television shows such as the award-winning Expresso Show, Afternoon Express and Tropika Island of Treasure. The shows are broadcast locally on SABC and Expresso is also broadcast internationally on The Africa Channel in the USA. 

Job Description:
We are looking for a mid-level Social Media Manager to join the team for the award winning daily morning show, Expresso, airing on SABC3. The successful candidate will joining a team that would be handling all digital and social media content for this show.

You will be responsible for crafting and managing the execution of various forms of digital content, including but not limited to social media, website, newsletter and broadcast content. The role extends to include:

Duties and Responsibilities
Creating and executing content plans in line with the brand’s strategy and tone.
Creating and executing content plans incorporating sponsors messaging and key objectives.
Curate content to ensure a high standard of quality and relevance to users.
Liaising with clients and account managers addressing key queries around content – understand what kind of publicity is sought and how to get it.
Driving engagement and conversations via engaging & shareable content with the community and ultimately establishing brand loyalty.
Community management across all platforms. 
Identifying tactical and relevant opportunities to engage – creating / tailoring exciting new content to the needs of the audience in the context of client product and or industry.
Keeping up to date with the latest trends within the digital and social media landscape 
Working closely with the Cardova Digital team to implement new strategies and ideas and drive positive sentiment for the brand across all Cardova platforms.
Inputting into campaign ideas and creative brainstorming sessions.
Reporting to clients on campaign performance
Managing the brand’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and website on a daily basis.
Assisting with the publicity around the show content .

Personal Skills/Attributes
Minimum 2 years of industry experience.
Professional manner
Pride in work with attention to detail.
Ability to translate a creative concept into a clear content plan.
Must be comfortable with writing in various styles and for multiple formats
Must have strong creative writing skills and the ability to write powerful and compelling copy.
Ability to adapt writing style to appeal to various target markets.
Knowledge of additional South African languages will be advantageous.
Active and well-rounded personal presence in social media, with an understanding of each platform and the best practices.
Basic photo editing and design skills.
Basic photography skills.
Well-developed sense of humour and enjoys being part of a team.
Collaborative
User focused, always trying to understand a product from the users perspective. Independent and self-motivated.
Confident and proactive.
Solution and deadline driven.
Strong analytical mind and in-depth experience of social media reporting and analytics.
Ability to adapt (any environment, systems, processes, and procedures).
Excellent time management.
Interest on the television industry. 
Desire to pursue social media management as a career path for the foreseeable future.
