10-Minute Pan-Seared Gnocchi
A hug in every bite, ready in minutes.
Ingredients:
- 500g high-quality store-bought potato gnocchi
- 3 tbsp salted butter
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 12-15 fresh sage leaves
- 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup toasted walnuts, roughly chopped
- 1/2 lemon (for zest and juice)
- Grana Padano or Parmesan shavings to serve
- Salt and cracked black pepper
- to serve lemon zest and Parmesan shavings
How To Make Gnocchi
- In a large non-stick pan, heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of the butter over medium-high heat.
- Add the gnocchi directly to the pan (do not boil them first) and fry for 5–7 minutes, tossing occasionally until they are golden and crispy on the outside.
- Reduce the heat to medium and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Once the butter begins to foam and turn nut-brown, toss in the sage leaves and garlic.
- Fry until the sage is crisp and the garlic is fragrant, being careful not to burn the butter.
- Add the toasted walnuts and a squeeze of lemon juice, then season with salt and pepper.
- Serve immediately in warm bowls, topped with fresh lemon zest and plenty of Parmesan shavings.
