Beef and Mushroom Pot Pies
Fill the kitchen with warmth and nostalgia!
Ingredients:
- 500 g beef stewing cubes
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 250 g mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup beef stock
- 5 tbsp Mrs Balls Original Chutney
- 1 tsp thyme or mixed herbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 roll puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
How To Make Beef and Mushroom Pot Pies
- Heat oil in a pot and brown the beef on all sides.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened.
- Stir in the mushrooms and sauté until they start to release moisture.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir to coat.
- Add the tomato paste, beef stock, herbs and Mrs Balls Original Chutney.
- Mix well.
- Simmer for 25 to 30 minutes until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Adjust seasoning.
- Spoon the filling into ramekins or an ovenproof dish.
- Cut the puff pastry to size and place it over the tops.
- Brush with egg wash.
- Bake at 200°C for 20 to 25 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Serve warm and enjoy the rich, comforting flavours.
