Bread Dippers
Making your own bread dippers has never been easier!
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- ½ cup grated cheddar or mozzarella
- 2 Tbsp grated Parmesan
- ½ tsp paprika or smoked paprika
- Salt & pepper, to taste
How To Make Puff Pastry Cheese Twists
- Preheat oven to 200°C.
- Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
- Sprinkle the entire surface evenly with grated cheeses, paprika, and a little salt and pepper.
- Fold the pastry in half (short side to short side) and press gently to seal the cheese inside.
- Slice into strips (around 2cm wide), twist each strip gently, and lay on the baking tray.
- Brush with egg wash and bake for 15–18 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving.
Ingredients:
- 4–5 slices of sourdough bread (day-old is ideal)
- 3 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 garlic clove, finely grated or minced
- 2 Tbsp grated Parmesan
- 1 tsp dried Italian herbs or oregano
How To Make Parmesan, Herb & Garlic Sourdough Dippers
- Preheat oven to 190°C. Cut sourdough into fingers or long strips.
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, herbs, and Parmesan.
- Brush both sides of the bread strips with the mixture.
- Place on a baking tray and bake for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
- Sprinkle with a little extra Parmesan or fresh parsley.
- Serve warm or at room temp.
