Cheese and Peppercorn Sauces
Pasta, chicken, steak or veggies, a classic cheese sauce or peppercorn sauce is the perfect accompaniment!

Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 4-6
Ingredients:
- For cheese sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp Golden Cloud Cake flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper
How To Make Cheese Sauce
- In saucepan melt butter over medium heat
- Add the flour and whisk to combine
- Cook until the mixture lightly browned then whisk in the milk until smooth.
- Cook until sauce is thickened.
- Remove from the heat, add the cheese and season to taste.
- To serve: Fold into cooked macaroni, top with extra cheese and bake till golden OR pour over roasted vegetables
Ingredients:
- For peppercorn sauce:
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 shallots, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp cracked black pepper
- 1 tbsp Golden Cloud Cake Flour
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 cups cream
How To Make Peppercorn Sauce
- Melt the butter in a pan on medium heat.
- Add the shallots, garlic and thyme, and sauté until soft.
- Add the peppercorn and flour and toast until fragrant
- Pour in the cream, season with salt and allow to simmer for 10-15 minutes or until thickened
- Pour the sauce over the chicken schnitzel and enjoy!
