How To Make Chocolate French Toast Waffles

  1. Spread chocolate spread or melted chocolate on 4 of the waffles.
  2. Add sliced fruit, marshmallows if using.
  3. Top with the remaining waffles to make 4 sandwiches.
  4. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk or cream, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar (if using), and a pinch of salt.
  5. Dip each waffle sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides well but not
letting it soak too long to prevent sogginess.
  6. Heat a little butter or oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  7. Cook each sandwich for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
  8. Transfer to plates, dust with icing sugar, drizzle with chocolate sauce, and pile on whipped cream, berries and chocolate shavings.
