Citrus Hacks: Citrus Herb Salt & Brazilian Lemonade

With citrus season soon coming to an end we decided to try out two citrus inspired hacks!

Ingredients:

For the grapefruit & rosemary citrus salt:

  • 3 Tbsp grapefruit zest
  • 1 Tbsp fresh rosemary chopped
  • 1 cup salt flakes

For the orange & sage citrus salt:

  • 3 Tbsp orange zest
  • 1 Tbsp fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 cup salt flakes

For the lemon & thyme citrus salt:

  • 3 Tbsp lemon zest
  • 1 Tbsp fresh thyme chopped
  • 1 cup salt flakes

How To Make Citrus Herb Salt

  1. Preheat oven to 100°C. Place ingredients into a motar & pestle, grind until well combined then transfer to a baking tray lined with baking paper, then place into the oven 1 hour until dehydrated.

Ingredients:

  • 5 limes, quartered
  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups ice

To serve:

  • Ice
  • Sliced limes

How To Make Brazilian Lemonade

  1. Place limes and water into a blender and blend for 15 seconds, then pour the blended the mixture through a sieve.
  2. Then pour the liquid back into the blender, add in ice and sweetened condensed milk and blend until froth.
  3. Add ice into glasses, pour in Brazilian lemonade and enjoy.
