Clover Classic Caramel Churro Doughnuts

One of our all time favorite dessert recipes here on your feel good breakfast show is churros!

Serves: 6-8
Time: 20 minutes


120ml milk
120ml water
90g Clover Classic Fat spread
30g brown sugar
200g Self raising flour
3 large eggs
oil for frying
1 cup cinnamon sugar
Caramel for stuffing


Place the milk, water, Classic fat spread, sugar and salt into a saucepan and bring to a slight boil over medium heat. Stir in the flour using a wooden spoon, until completely incorporated.
Remove from the heat and beat in the eggs, one at a time until you have a smooth batter.
Heat the oil and use an ice cream scoop, to scoop spoonfuls of batter into the oil. Fry until golden brown on all sides and roll into the cinnamon sugar.

Pour caramel into a piping bag. Make a hole into the donuts and pipe the caramel into the holes. Serve whilst still warm.

Chefs Tip: You can fill the churros with chocolate instead of caramel or simply have them plain – either way, it will be delicious
