
Clover Classic Cheese Scones
If your enthusiasm for baking is at its peak but your baking skills says otherwise, you’ve tuned in at the right time, A classic scone recipe is always a good start and today we show you just how easy it is to make.
Serves: 3-4

Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp sugar
pinch of salt
1 tsp cayenne pepper
½ cup cold buter
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
½-1 cup Clover Classic dairy snack, plain flavour
For the Maple bacon
4-5 streaky bacon strips
2 tsp brown sugar
3 tbsp maple syrup
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180C
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, sugar, salt and cayenne pepper.
Add in the butter and rub until it forms coarse breadcrumbs. Stir in the cheese and add the Clover Classic dairy snack. Stir to combine until a dough forms.
Roll out to 4 cm thick and cut out rounds with a glass or cookie cutter. Place onto a greased and lined baking tray and bake for 12-15 minutes.
To make the maple bacon, lay the bacon on an oven tray rack. Combine the brown sugar and maple syrup in a bowl and heat up in a saucepan. Brush over bacon and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until crispy. Serve with cheese scones.
Chefs Tip:
- Always ensure the butter is cold, to get a flaky result
