Creamy Redu
Popularly known as Dahi Tadka, a Redu is a comforting dish made with spices and aromatics, mixed with a creamy base and served with rice.
Serves: 3-4
Cooking time: 15-20 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 1tbsp cumin seeds
- 1tsp mustard seeds
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- Few curry leaves
- 3 dried chilles
- 1 red onion, sliced
- ½ tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp chilli powder
- 1 green chilli, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups Clover Nolac dairy snack, plain flavour
- 1/2 cup Clover Nolac milk
- ½ cup water
- Fresh coriander, chopped
- Cooked Basmati rice for serving
How To Make Lactose Free Redu
- In a large pan, heat the oil then add the cumin seeds, mustard seeds, garlic, curry leaves and dried chillies.
- Toast until fragrant, then add the red onion and sauté for a few minutes before adding the turmeric, chilli power and chopped chilli.
Season with salt and pepper. - Mix together the Nolac dairy snack with the Nolac milk and water and pour over the onion mixture.
- Cook for a few minutes then ladle over basmati rice and garnish with fresh coriander.
