Crosse & Blackwell Kasi Magic Loaded Boerie Roll
Ken Follett once said ‘Hard work should be rewarded by good food’ and for today’s urban youth, that has never rung more true. With the busy, on-the-go lives majority lead these days, there’s not much time to spend in the kitchen cooking from scratch which leaves us looking for hassle-free meal solutions that don’t compromise on flavour.
Serves: 4
Time: 30 minutes
Recipe by: Nicole Snelling
Ingredients:
4 Hotdog Rolls
4 thick Boeriewors Sausages, cooked
2 Cups cooked Slap Chips
Tomato and Atchar Smoor:
1 Onion, finely sliced
1 Tin KOO Chopped Tomato
½ Cup Atchar
1 Tbsp Oil
Crosse & Blackwell’s Kasi Magic Sauce of your choice to serve
Method:
Add the oil and onion to a medium heated sauce pot. Allow the onion to cook for 3-4 minutes until softened and then add the tinned tomato and atchar. Allow to reduce and cook down for 10-15 minutes and set aside for serving.
To assemble the boerie roll, add the boerewors to each roll, top with tomato and atchar smoor, then add the slap chips and then finally add some Crosse & Blackwell’s Kasi Magic Sauce of your choice before serving.
Chefs Tip:
- You can replace the tinned tomato and fresh onion with tinned tomato and onion and use any atchar of your choice.
- Toasting the hotdog buns will just make the boerie roll that much more gourmet.
