Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs with Steamed Jasmine

Ingredients:
For the Chicken:
- 4–6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 Tbsp oil
Honey Garlic Sauce:
- 4 Tbsp honey
- 3 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ½ tsp chili flakes
- 2 tsp cornstarch + 2 Tbsp water (slurry, for thickening)
To serve:
- Steamed jasmine rice
- Steamed broccoli
- Sesame seeds
- Spring onion
- Lime wedges
How To Make Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs with Steamed Jasmine
- In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, vinegar, minced garlic, sesame oil (if using), and chili flakes.
- In a separate small bowl, stir together cornstarch and water to make a slurry.
- Set both aside.
- Pat chicken thighs dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chicken thighs and sear 4–5 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through.
- Remove chicken and set aside on a plate.
- In the same pan, lower the heat slightly and pour in the honey garlic sauce mixture.
- Bring to a gentle simmer, then stir in the cornstarch slurry.
- Cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring, until the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze.
- Return the chicken to the pan, tossing to coat well in the sticky sauce.
- Simmer for another 2 minutes, basting the chicken with the glaze.
- Scoop steamed jasmine rice into bowls or plates.
- Top with honey garlic chicken thighs and a generous drizzle of the sauce.
- Garnish with sesame seeds, spring onions, and a squeeze of lime.
