Loaded Boerewors Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 red or green pepper, thinly sliced 
  • 1 garlic clove, minced 
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar 
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper 
  • 500g boerewors
  • 6 hotdog rolls
  • 2 Tbsp salted butter
 
To serve:
  • ready-made fries
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • homemade sauces of your choice
  • 6 slices, streaky bacon
  • jalapeños
  • coriander

How To Make Loaded Boerie Rolls


Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat, add in onions, peppers & garlic cook until the onions are translucent, and peppers are tender, add in sugar and cayenne pepper and cook for about 1 minute then set aside. Meanwhile cook the boerewors according to your liking, spread butter onto the hotdog rolls, then lightly toast them in a hot pan. Add some sauce to you’re the base of the roll, add in some fries, boerewors, top sauteed onion and peppers, lastly top with bacon, sour cream, jalapeños and garnish with coriander
