
Shakshuka
A one-pan dish packed with bold flavours, Shakshuka is a classic that never fails to impress!
Ingredients:
- 6 Nulaid eggs
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp ground coriander
- ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
- 1 can (400g) chopped tomatoes
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Crusty bread, for serving
How To Make Shakshuka
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add onions and bell pepper, cooking until soft.
- Stir in garlic, cumin, paprika, coriander, and chili flakes, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and tomato paste, season with salt and pepper, and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes until thickened.
- Make small wells in the sauce and crack Nulaid eggs into each.
- Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes, until the egg whites are set but the yolks remain runny.
- Sprinkle with crumbled feta and fresh parsley.
- Serve warm with crusty bread for dipping.
