1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. The Expresso x Absa App Spin & Win Competition (“Competition”) is run by Cardova Trading (Pty) Ltd, producer of the Expresso Morning Show (“Cardova” or “Expresso”), in association with Absa (collectively, the “Organisers”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

1.3. Participation in the Competition is subject to these Terms and Conditions, any instructions appearing on the relevant official competition post, and any reasonable instructions communicated by the Organisers during the Competition.
1.4. Entry into the Competition does not guarantee that an Entrant will be selected as a contestant, invited to participate on Expresso, receive a studio visit or surprise visit, spin the prize wheel, or win a Prize.
2. COMPETITION PERIOD
2.1 This contestant selection period will open at 06:00AM on Monday, 2 November 2026 and will close at 10:00AM on Thursday, 18 February 2027 (Competition Period).

4.2. Entries that do not include both required campaign hashtags, #MyAbsa❤️ and #YourStoryMatters, may be deemed invalid and may not be considered for contestant selection.
4.3. A money moment may include, for example, buying a first home, saving towards education, travelling, starting over financially or reaching an important personal financial goal.
4.4. Downloading the Absa App by itself does not constitute a Competition entry. The Entrant must also submit a valid entry through the official Expresso competition post.
4.5. Entries must be submitted manually by a natural person. Automated, bulk, bot-generated or fraudulent entries will not be accepted.
4.6. The Organisers may disregard duplicate, spam, substantially identical or otherwise inappropriate entries.
4.7. Entrants must not include passwords, PINs, OTPs, bank account numbers, card numbers or other confidential banking information in their public entry.
4.8. Entries must be truthful and must not contain material that is unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, threatening, abusive, obscene, fraudulent, infringing of third-party rights or otherwise unsuitable for public broadcast or publication.
4.9. Where an entry refers to or contains personal information about another identifiable person, the Entrant warrants that they have the necessary permission to share that information.
4.10. Standard data and internet costs associated with entering the Competition remain the Entrant’s responsibility.
5. HOW THE WINNER IS DETERMINED
5.1. This Competition does not operate as a random draw for participation on Expresso.
5.2. Absa and Cardova expressly reserve the right to review valid entries and jointly select the Entrants who will be invited to participate as contestants in the Absa App Spin & Win.
5.3. Contestants may be selected based on factors including, but not limited to:
5.3.1. the relevance and authenticity of the submitted money moment;
5.3.2. suitability of the story for an Expresso television segment;
5.3.3. originality, emotional resonance or audience relevance of the entry;
5.3.4. the Entrant’s availability to participate;
5.3.5. production, geographic, scheduling or technical feasibility;
5.3.6. compliance with these Terms and Conditions; and
5.3.7. the editorial and campaign requirements of Cardova and Absa.
5.4. Submitting an entry does not create any entitlement or legitimate expectation to be shortlisted or selected.
5.5. The number of likes, reactions, replies or other social-media engagement received by an entry will not guarantee selection unless an official competition post expressly states otherwise.
5.6. The Organisers are not obliged to select the earliest entry, the most-liked entry, the most-commented entry or any particular Entrant.
5.7. The Organisers’ selection of contestants will be made at their reasonable discretion, subject to applicable law.
5.8. The Organisers are not obliged to disclose detailed reasons why one entry was selected over another.
5.9. A selected Entrant only becomes a confirmed contestant once their eligibility has been verified and they have accepted the Organisers’ invitation and participation requirements.
5.10. If a selected Entrant cannot be contacted, does not respond within the timeframe communicated to them, cannot participate when required, fails verification or otherwise becomes ineligible, the Organisers may select an alternative Entrant.
5.11. The contestant may be announced on Expresso and its digital media sites.
6. ABSA CUSTOMER SURPRISE AND DOUBLE-SPIN OPPORTUNITY
6.1. Certain qualifying Entrants who are verified Absa customers may, at the discretion of Absa and Cardova, be selected for an additional Surprise & Delight experience.
6.2. This may include a filmed surprise visit and an invitation to participate in the Expresso studio.
6.3. A qualifying Absa customer selected for this experience may receive the opportunity to spin twice and potentially win two Prizes.
6.4. Being an Absa customer does not automatically entitle an Entrant to a surprise visit, studio invitation, second spin or additional Prize.
6.5. Absa may verify whether an Entrant qualifies as an Absa customer for purposes of the applicable Competition mechanic.
6.6. Any surprise visit will remain subject to production feasibility, safety considerations, access permissions and the selected Entrant’s participation in the necessary production arrangements.
7. HOW THE SPIN & WIN MECHANIC WORKS
7.1. Selected contestants will participate in the Absa App Spin & Win mechanic as directed by the Expresso production team.
7.2. The prize wheel may contain broad Prize categories rather than individual Prize names.
7.3. Where a contestant lands on a Prize category, the specific Prize within that category may be determined through a mystery box, prize card, envelope or another equivalent on-air selection mechanism determined by the Organisers.
7.4. Prize cards may be removed or adjusted as individual Prize stocks are awarded or exhausted.
7.5. Where a wheel result is unclear, lands directly between two categories, is affected by mechanical or technical malfunction, or cannot reasonably be determined, the Organisers may require the contestant to spin again.
7.6. The decision of the authorised Expresso production representative regarding the result of a physical wheel spin or Prize selection mechanic will be final, subject to applicable law.
7.7. Being selected to appear as a contestant does not guarantee any particular Prize or Prize value.
