Three Burger Recipes

We DARE you to try something different next time you have a burger night! 
There’s a low-carb, bunless option, a taco-style burger and even a breakfast burger. Which one tickles your tastebuds?

Ingredients:

  • 1 extra large onion, cut into circular slices
  • 4 slices of cheese
  • 4 beef burger patties
  • 1 pickle, sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • Oil for frying
  • To serve:
  • Burger mayo
  • Side salad or chips

How To Make Onion-Wrapped Bunless Burger

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, drizzle some oil.
  2. Place 4 onion disks on the skillet, sprinkle with a bit of sugar and salt.
  3. Cook on both sides until golden and slightly caramelized.
  4. Add 2 slices of cheese to 2 onions disks, melt slightly.
  5. Transfer onions to a plate and set aside
  6. Add the patties to the skillet, cook until browned on the one side.
  7. Flip over then add the remaining slices of cheese on the patties.
  8. Cook for a further minute.
  9. Add one patty without cheese on top the patty with cheese to create a double burger.
  10. Transfer the stack on top of a grilled onion and a few slices of tomatoes and pickles.
  11. Cover by adding the grilled onion with cheese on top as the bun.
  12. Serve with mayo and side salad/chips.

Ingredients:

  • 500g mince
  • 1 tbsp meat chops seasoning
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 4 tortilla wraps
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup burger mayo
  • 2 pickle gherkins, sliced
  • 2 cups lettuce, shredded
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced

How To Make Taco-Style Burger

  1. Place the mince in a bowl, add the seasoning and use your hands to press together and combine.
  2. Divide the beef into four parts and roll into balls.
  3. Heat a large skillet and drizzle oil.
  4. Place a beef ball on the skillet.
  5. Place a tortilla onto the ball and press down using an egg lifter or side plate until flattened evenly.
  6. Cook for 2-3 minutes then flip over.
  7. Add a slice of cheese and cook until tortilla is lightly toasted.
  8. Remove from the skillet and place on a plate. Repeat the process with remaining mince balls.
  9. Once both ready, spoon over mayo and top with gherkins, lettuce, tomato and red onions.
    Serve immediately.

Ingredients:

  • 6 plain flapjacks
  • 400g chicken bangers, skin removed
  • 2 tsp chilli flakes
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 spring onion, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup mayo
  • ¼ cup tomato sauce
  • 2 slice cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup caramelized onions

How To Make Breakfast Burger

  1. In a bowl squeeze the sausage meat out of the casing.
  2. Add chilli flakes and pepper and mix well.
  3. Divide and mould into 3 patties.
  4. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat, drizzle a bit of oil then fry the patties on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Crack the eggs into a bowl, add the spring onion, season with salt and whisk.
  6. Heat a different pan, melt the butter then pour in the eggs.
  7. Gently scramble the eggs on medium to low heat. Cook to your preference.
  8. Start assembling with the bottom flapjack, followed by a layer of mayo and tomato sauce.
  9. Add the sausage patty, a generous amount of scramble eggs, cheese, caramelised onions then top another flapjack.
    Serve immediately and enjoy.
