ENTRY AND PARTICIPATION RULES FOR THE JOY FROM AFRICA COMPETITION – WIN A V&A WATERFRONT ULTIMATE WEEKEND TO THE VALUE OF R100 000
1 GENERAL ENTRY CONDITIONS
1.1 The competition starts at on 06 December 2024 and closes at 18:00 on 22 December 2024. No late entries will be accepted.
1.2 The competition is open to all South African residents
1.3 Entrants must be over the age of 18 years.
1.4 The following persons are excluded from this competition and may not participate in the grand prize
1.4.1 a director, member, partner, employee or agent of, or consultant to V and A Waterfront Holdings (Pty) Ltd (“V&A“), this only applies to the main prize
1.4.3 the spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members of a director, member, partner, employee or agent, consultant, supplier of goods or services in connection with this competition, or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the V&A.
1.4.4 V&A’s tenants and their staff.
1.5 If you have won any V&A Waterfront competition within the last 30 (thirty) calendar days, you may not participate in this competition.
2 HOW TO ENTER
2.1 Simply spend R350 (includes VAT) or more between 6 – 22 December 2024 to enter this remarkable draw. 2.2 Each day there will be prizes to be won, this would include one or two main prizes, and multiple smaller prizes, you would need to make a purchase of any value at any one of our retailers at the V&A Waterfront to receive a scratch card that allows you to win one of many amazing spot prizes, look out for our festive season scout offering exciting spotprizes. Tenants of the V&A Waterfront property and their employees including international visitors are only allowed to enter for the spot prizes and not the grand prize.
2.3 Multiple entries will be permitted, subject to each entry being submitted separately and in accordance with entry requirements. A participant may only win one prize, should there be any dispute in this regard; the Promoter’s decision will be final. No fake receipts or entries will be allowed, only original receipts that are specific to the V&A Waterfront property. We will not use any entrant’s personal information for any other purpose besides the competition

2.4 All entries received that are incomplete, damaged, defaced, or illegible will be void and not eligible for entry into a competition.
3 WINNER SELECTION
4 The random, manual draw will take place on the 26th of December 2024. The draw will be done by Echo Events agency.
5 Entries will be extracted to a excel spreadsheet daily. A daily winner will be selected and audited to give us a shortlist of 17 valid entries for the random. The entire process will be digitally led, except the manual draw on the day.
6 Winners will first be notified online and/or via telephone. In the event that a winner is not contactable or does not return a call to the Promoter within 48hrs of the first attempt to contact the winner, then such winner will forfeit their prize and another winner will be randomly selected and the same process as described herein will be followed.
7 Winners will be required to provide their valid Identity Document and/or Driver’s license, and their original proof of purchase submitted.
8 As an Acknowledgement of Receipt, winners will be required to send a confirmation email to the V&A Waterfront to state that they have received the notification of winning, in order to claim the prize.
9 The V&A Waterfront reserves the right to carry out reasonable due diligence to confirm eligibility and help ensure that the use of any such person in advertising or publicity for the Promotion will not bring the V&A Waterfront or any of the V&A Waterfront’s brands into public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule or reflect unfavourably on the Promotion as determined by the V&A Waterfront in its sole discretion. The V&A Waterfront reserves the right to withdraw the prize and/or disqualify any participant/winner that may bring the V&A Waterfront’s brands into disrepute.
10 The Promoter may refuse to award a prize to a participant if there is suspicion of any irregularities or fraudulent activities.

10.1 Prizes are not transferrable or exchangeable and may not be redeemed for cash and if not taken up for any reason, may be forfeited or be the subject of a separate draw or be allocated at the Promoters’ discretion to another winner.
10.2 Promotional images are merely a representation of the prize and the actual prize may vary. The promoter reserves the right to substitute any of the prizes for a different prize of similar value. The winner will be responsible for any additional costs resulting from accepting this prize.
10.3 You may not win a prize if it is unlawful for us to supply such a prize to you. If you do win such a prize, you will forfeit it.
10.4 You must obtain and possess, at your cost and expense, whatever documents and permissions that may be required in order to accept and use a prize, and which documents and permissions must remain valid in such minimum form and for such minimum period after the prize date as may be required by the relevant authorities.
10.5 Unless we make alternative arrangements with the prize winner of the grand prize prior to collection of the prizes, the winner may collect the prizes at the V&A Waterfront Shopping Centre at tenants involved namely Karl Lagerfeld, Game4u, Watch Boutique and Kapten & Son. You will need to proceed to Raddison Red at the V&A Waterfront to redeem your weekend stay. We will send you the Noth Face luggage bags a week before your ultimate luxury weekend. The prizes should be collected with tenants inside the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre between Monday to Sunday 9am – 9pm during Shopping Centre trading hours, we will assist you in redeeming all the prizes you have won. In the event that you fail to collect your prize by 30 June 2025, you will forfeit such prizes.
10.6 It is your responsibility to provide accurate and truthful information on the entry form. If you are selected as a winner but, despite reasonable efforts, V&A is unable to contact you based on the information that you provided on the entry form, within 7 (seven) days from the day the winners are drawn, the V&A reserves the right not to award the prize to you.
10.7 The prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged or converted to cash.
10.8 Proof of identity will be required to collect a prize and we reserve the right to refuse payment or handing over of a prize to any potential winner who refuses to, or cannot provide sufficient documentation to verify their identity.
10.9 We may require you to provide us with additional information as we may reasonably require in order to process and to facilitate your acceptance and/or use of a prize.
10.10 TERMS OF DELIVERY
10.11 Winners will be required to submit their preferred email address to the Promoter when contacted telephonically, if not present to take receipt of the prize at the live event.
10.12 The V&A Watefront is not responsible for any undelivered prizes due to any incorrect contact details being provided by the winner.
10.13 Free delivery within South Africa.
11 GENERAL RULES AND INFORMATION
11.1 You may obtain a copy of the competition rules from Mandla Mkwebane or Jeandre Straussin our Marketing Department at the V&A Waterfront Head Office between 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
11.2 In the event of unforeseen circumstances or causes beyond our reasonable control, V&Areserves the right to cancel this competition, or to change the rules at V&A‘s discretion or to change the prize(s) at any time by publishing such decision on V&A‘s website: www.waterfront.co.za. It is your responsibility to check the Website from time to time for any such changes.
11.3 The winner selection is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
11.4 Income and other taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner.
11.5 Each entrant agrees not to submit any entry that infringes any third-party intellectual property rights, or any other rights, including without limitation, copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or confidentiality obligations, or otherwise violates applicable law.
11.6 Any personal information (including, without limitation, your name, age, address, postal code, telephone number and/or e-mail address) that you submit on the entry form will be used solely in connection with this competition and will not be disclosed to any third party except for the purposes of the competition, where applicable, unless you agree otherwise, or unless disclosure is required by law or court order.
11.7 All entries become the property of V&A and will not be acknowledged or returned.
11.8 Neither V&A nor its directors, members, employees, agents or representatives shall be liable for any loss or damage suffered by participants as a result of participating in the competition, save where such loss or damage is a result of the negligent or intentional acts of V&A and/or its directors, members, employees, agents or representatives.
11.9 If you do not reside in Cape Town, but within the borders of South Africa, we will fly you out to Cape Town at no cost to you.
