Baked Maple Bacon Doughnuts
Doughnuts for breakfast? Never say never!

Ingredients:
- ¼ cup oil
- 1 tbsp vanilla essence
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup maple flavoured syrup
- ½ cup milk
- 2 cups flour
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground cardamom
- Pinch of salt
- Glaze:
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 250g streaky bacon, cooked crispy
How To Make Baked Maple Bacon Doughtnuts
- Preheat the oven to 180C and prepare a doughnut pan with cooking spray.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the oil, eggs, vanillas, syrup and milk.
- Add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly in the doughnut pan, filing 2/3 of the way.
- Bake for 12-13 minutes or until skewer inserted comes out clean.
- Make the glaze by combining all the ingredients.
- Drizzle the glaze over the doughnuts. Allow to set then top with crispy bacon.
