Blissful Brûlée French Toast Custard Hearts

Ingredients:
- 2 Thick cut slices of bread
- 3 Large eggs
- ½ tsp Vanilla essence
- 1 Tbsp Butter
- Dash of cream (optional)
- 2 Tbsp Castor sugar
- Pinch of salt
- Clover Bliss Double Cream Custard
- Mascarpone cheese, to serve
- Berry compote, to serve
How To Make Brulee French Toast
- Prepare the egg mixture by adding the cracked eggs to a mixing bowl, whisk in the vanilla essence, dash of cream and pinch of salt.
- Soak each slice of bread in the egg mixture on both sides.
- Bring a non-stick pan to a medium-high heat, add the butter and place the slices into the pan.
- Cook them until golden brown on each side and the egg mixture has cooked through.
- Place each slice on a serving plate and using a small heart shaped cookie cutter, cut a heart out from the slice of bread.
- Save the small heart from the inside to serve with your French toast.
- Fill the heart with some Bliss Double Cream Custard until it is level with the bread.
- Sprinkle the slices with the castor sugar and then using a blow torch, caramelize the sugar until golden brown.
- Scoop a serving of mascarpone and berry compote onto each slice before serving.
