Butter Chicken

 A warm, comforting, quick, and easy recipe. It’s all you need in a dish!

Ingredients:

  • 500g boneless chicken (breast or thighs), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • ½ cup cream
  • Salt & pepper to taste

To serve:

  • Coriander
  • Basmati rice
  • Roti

How To Make Butter Chicken

  1. Heat 1 tbsp butter in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add chicken pieces and cook until lightly golden.
  3. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add another tbsp of butter.
  5. Sauté onions until soft, then add garlic and ginger.
  6. Cook for a minute.
  7. Stir in garam masala, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, and chili powder.
  8. Cook for 30 seconds to release flavours.
  9. Pour in the tomato puree, season with salt and pepper, and let it simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  10. Add the cooked chicken back to the pan and pour in the cream.
  11. Simmer for another 5 minutes until the sauce is rich and creamy.
  12. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve with rice or naan.
