1kg chicken, cut into portions 2 large or 3 medium onions, diced 2 Tbsp cooking oil 6/7/8 cloves garlic thumb size ginger 1 tsp turmeric pinch pepper/2 whole peppercorns 2 heaped Tbsp jeera (cumin) 2 Tbsp koljander (coriander) 2 and half Tbsp leaf masala 5 cardamom pods 3 pieces stick cinnamon 5 curry leaves 2 tsp salt 1 Cup water 1 tomato, grated 4 potatoes, quartered
Method:
Braise onions with cardamom, stick cinnamon and curry leaves till golden brown. Add spices and tomatoes. Add cleaned chicken pieces and garlic and ginger then add potatoes. Cover and cook approx 30 min. Add water as you stir in between. Enjoy with rice or roti.
