Chakalaka Boerie Eggs Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 large egg
  • 100-150g Borewors
  • 1/3 Cup Mild chakalaka
  • ½ Cup Baby tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • Chops spice, for seasoning
  • Toasted ciabatta bread, for serving

How To Make Chakalaka Boerie Eggs 

  1. Remove the wors meat from the casing.
  2. Using your hands mould a patty shape.
    In a non-stick pan, add olive oil and baby tomatoes.
  3. Allow the tomatoes to cook down and become soft.
  4. Add the chakalaka and a dash of water, cook for 2-3 minutes and put aside.
  5. Cook the patty off in a medium heated pan until golden brown on each side.
  6. Place the chakalaka on the base of a wide set serving bowl, add the patty and then place a egg cooked to your dads liking on top.
  7. Season the egg with chops spice before serving with some chutney and toasted ciabatta.

Chefs Tip: Serve with borewors as is if you don’t want form a patty from the wors.
