Classic Condensed Milk & Custard Fridge Tart

South Africans love a fridge tart and love condensed milk even more! Try this no-bake, super quick and easy recipe.

  • 3 Cups Fresh milk
  • 1/2 Cup Custard powder
  • 75ml Sugar
  • 75ml Lemon juice
  • 1 tin Clover condensed milk
  • 2 pkts Coconut biscuits
  • Pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream, to serve

How To Make Condensed Milk & Custard Fridge Tart

  1. Add the milk to a saucepan, whisk in the custard powder, sugar and pinch of salt.
  2. Bring to a simmer and allow to thicken.
  3. Making sure to stir consistently.
  4. Once thickened remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly.
  5. Once cooled, whisk in the Clover condensed milk and lemon juice until combined.
  6. Lay one layer biscuits in a serving dish and top with 1/3 of the mixture. And repeat the process.
  7. Place the tart into the fridge to set for at least 2 hours.
  8. Serve with a dollop of fresh cream.
