Ingredients:
3 cups flour
Pinch of salt
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp instant yeast
¾ cup warm milk
2 eggs
1 head roasted garlic, mashed
Clover Butro
1 tbso mixed dried herbs
1 tsp chilli flakes
½ cup grated parmesan
Few fresh sage leaves, chopped
Sauce of choice for serving
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180C
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast and salt. Add the warm milk, sugar, egg and 2 tablespoons of Clover Butro. Mix until a dough forms, if too sticky, add more flour. Cover the bowl and allow to rise until double in size.
Divide the dough in half and roll out into rectangle shape on a floured surface. Cut out 2 triangles from each dough piece.
Spread the one triangle with Clover Butro, herbs, chilli flakes and parmesan. Place the other triangle over the top to cover, matching the corners. Cut into slits for the tree branches leaving the centre uncut to form the trunk. Pull the strips and twist. Brush with more Clover Butro and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Serve with sauce of choice.
Chefs Tip: You could form little dough balls and shape into a Christmas tree for your board.
