Clover Classic Sichuan Apple and Pear Crumble

Take a classic crumble, give it a twist with apple AND pear, and then add a sprinkling of spice!

2 granny smith apples, peeled and roughly copped
2 pears, peeled and roughly chopped
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp maple syrup
¼ cup castor sugar
1 -2 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns

For the crumble
150g flour
100g Clover Classic spread
75g brown sugar


Preheat the oven to 180C

Place the chopped apples, pears, sugar, cinnamon and peppercorns into a large saucepan and pour in a dash of water. Allow to cook for a few minutes to soften slightly.
Transfer to an oven safe dish and drizzle over the maple syrup.
To make the crumble, combine the flour, Clover Classic spread and sugar in a large bowl and rub together until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Scatter over the apple and pear mixture and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until the crumbs are golden in colour.

Serve with custard or ice cream.
