Ingredients:
- 1 packet packo chilli bite mix
- 2 lettuce heads, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- ½ green pepper, chopped
- 1 large carrot, grated
- 3 chilies, chopped
- 3 – 4 garlic cloves, minced
- handful fresh coriander
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups self-raising flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp leaf masala
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp tandoori
- 1 Tbsp oil
- Salt, to taste
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup milk
- Oil for frying
How To Make Dhaltjies / Chili Bites
- Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. In a large bowl add in chili bite mix, flour, baking powder, onions, green pepper, coriander, and garlic.
- Mix until well combined then add in eggs, masalas, salt and oil.
- Add in the rest of the ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Fry for 3 – 4 minutes until golden brown.
Ingredients:
- 1kg self-raising flour
- 125g butter/margarine
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- 1 cup buttermilk
- To serve:
- strawberry jam
- whipped cream
How To Make Scones
- Preheat oven to 180°C and grease a muffin pan with cooking spray or melted butter.
- In a large bowl sift in flour, then add margarine and rub the butter into the flour until it resembles course texture, add in egg, baking powder, sugar and buttermilk and mix until well combined.
- Scoop into prepared tins, brush with beaten egg and bake for 15 – 20 minutes.
- Serve with whipped cream and strawberry jam.

- 2 – 3 bananas
- 1 Tbsp margarine
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla essence
- 100ml milk
- 1 egg
- Pinch of salt
- 250ml self-raising flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
- Oil, for frying
How To Make Banana Fritters
- Place bananas in boiling water.
- Combine butter and sugar together, then add in egg and mix well. Sift in flour and salt.
- Lastly add in banana and vanilla essence and mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl mix together sugar and cinnamon.
- Heat oil over medium heat, add spoonful’s of the mixture into the hot oil and cook until browned, remove from the pan and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
