Pilchards Pasta

Ingredients:
- 250g Pasta Grande
- 3 tbsp Great Value Sunflower Oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 1 can Lucky Star Pilchards
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- Salt
- Pepper
- Fresh parsley, optional
How To Make Pilchards Pasta
- Cook the pasta according to packaging instructions.
- Drain, keeping 1 cup of the pasta water and set aside
- Heat a large pan over medium heat. Heat the oil and add the onions, sauté for 2 minutes until soft and translucent.
- Add the garlic and spices and sauté for a further minute.
- Add the tomatoes and chicken stock. Allow to cook and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Place the pilchards on a flat plate, using a knife and fork, gently cut each fish down the middle to remove and dischard the bones.
- Stir the pilchards into the pan, breaking into smaller pieces. Cook for 10 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Fold the pasta and cheese until fully incorporated and cheese has melted.
- Serve and garnish with fresh parsley.
