Fathers Day Spoils!

Dad deserves to start his special day with a breakfast made with love and packed with flavour!

Ingredients:

For the French Toast:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tsp butter (for the pan)
  • 3 slices sourdough bread

For Topping:

  • Fresh strawberries
  • Fresh blackberries
  • Fresh raspberries
  • Powdered sugar
  • Whipped cream
  • Golden Syrup

How To Make French Toast with Fruit & Cream

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the egg, vanilla, cinnamon, and milk until well combined.
  2. Heat a pan over medium heat and melt the butter.
  3. Dip each slice of sourdough into the mixture, allowing the bread to soak it up evenly on both sides.
  4. Place the soaked bread onto the heated pan and cook until golden brown on each side.
  5. Once cooked, arrange the French toast slices on a serving tray.
  6. Top generously with powdered sugar, a handful of fresh berries, and a dollop.
  7. Serve with whipped cream and Golden Syrup.

  • 4 Cheese All Butter Scones
  • 4 Eggs, scrambled
  • 1 Tomato, sliced
  • 1 pack of bacon, fried
  • Avocado, sliced
  • Chilli Flakes
  • Fresh Chives

How To Make Savory Scone Stack

  1. Lightly toast or warm the cheese scones in the oven at 180°C for 5 minutes, or until heated through.
  2. In a pan, scramble the eggs with a little butter, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cook until soft and fluffy.
  4. In a skillet, fry the bacon to your preferred crispness.
  5. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Slice each scone in half, on the bottom half,
  7. layer: a few slices of avocado, a spoonful of scrambled egg, a slice or two of tomato, a strip or two of bacon.
  8. Sprinkle with chilli flakes for a kick.
  9. Add a touch of fresh chives and top with the other scone half.
  10. Serve warm, with coffee, juice, or Dad’s favorite breakfast drink.
