
Homemade Malva Pudding
Few desserts bring as much warmth and nostalgia as Malva Pudding—a soft, syrupy classic that is the heart of so many family gatherings!

Ingredients:
For the pudding:
- 1 cup (200g) sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp apricot jam
- 2 tbsp Stork White Baking Margarine, melted
- 1 tsp vinegar (white or apple cider)
- 1 cup (250ml) milk
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup (125g) cake flour
- Pinch of salt
For the sauce:
- 1 cup (250ml) cream
- 1/2 cup (100g) sugar
- 1/2 cup (125ml) hot water
- 1/4 cup (60g) Stork White Baking Margarine
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
How To Make Homemade Malva Pudding
- Preheat oven to 180°C and grease a baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
- Add apricot jam and mix well.
- Stir in melted Stork White Baking Margarine, vinegar, and milk.
- Sift together flour, salt, and baking soda.
- Gently fold into the wet ingredients until smooth.
- Pour batter into the greased baking dish and bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden and a skewer comes out clean.
- In a saucepan, heat cream, sugar, hot water, Stork White Baking Margarine, and vanilla essence until sugar dissolves and sauce is warm.
- Once the pudding is out of the oven, poke holes all over and pour the warm sauce over the hot pudding.
- Let it absorb for a few minutes.
- Serve warm with custard, ice cream, or whipped cream.
