Masala Steak tacos
If you love steak and you love spice, you’re going to fall for these!

Ingredients:
For the Masala Steak:
- 500g steak strips
- 2 Tbsp plain yogurt
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1½ tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- ½ tsp turmeric
- ½ tsp chili powder
- 1 Tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- Salt to taste
- 1 Tbsp oil (for cooking)
For the slaw:
- 1½ cups shredded red cabbage
- 1 cup grated carrot
- ¼ red onion, finely sliced
- 2 Tbsp chopped fresh coriander
- 2 Tbsp Greek yogurt or mayo
- ½ tsp cumin powder
- Juice of ½ lime
- Salt and pepper to taste
For Assembly:
- 8–10 small corn or flour tortillas
- Fresh coriander leaves
- Lime wedges
- Chutney or yogurt drizzle (optional)
How To Make Masala Steak Tacos
- In a bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, all the spices, and ginger-garlic paste.
- Add steak slices and mix until well coated.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine cabbage, carrot, red onion, and coriander.
- In a small bowl, whisk together yogurt or mayo, cumin, lime juice, salt, and pepper.
- Toss with the slaw just before serving to keep it crisp.
- Heat a large pan or grill over medium-high heat.
- Add oil, then cook steak slices in batches until browned and cooked through.
- Heat tortillas on a dry skillet or open flame until warm and slightly charred.
- To assemble the taco, layer each tortilla with a spoonful of masala slaw, masala steak strips, fresh coriander and drizzle over chutney or yoghurt.
