Onion Boil
One of the latest trending recipes to hit the social media streets.
Ingredients:
- 1 large, onion
- 2–4 tbsp butter
- 1–2 tsp Old Bay seasoning (or Cajun seasoning)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 ½ tsp crushed garlic
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp chili flakes
- 1 ½ tsp lemon pepper
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- Splash of lemon juice
How To Make Onion Boil
- Preheat Oven
- Preheat to 200°C.
- Prep the Onion
- Peel the onion.
- Slice off the top and bottom so it sits flat.
- Cut a deep X into the top, stopping before the base.
- Season
- Stuff butter into the cuts and on top.
- Sprinkle generously with Cajun seasoning.
- Add garlic and any extra spices.
- Wrap in Foil
- Place onion in the centre of a large piece of aluminium foil.
- Wrap tightly, sealing completely so steam stays inside.
- Bake
- Place foil-wrapped onion on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 45–60 minutes, until the onion is very soft and caramelized.
- Serve
- Carefully unwrap (hot steam).
- Pull apart with a fork and enjoy!
