Oxtail & Dombolo Recipe

Oxtail & Dombolo is a dish worth celebrating for Africa day.

Ingredients:

  • Oxtail – can be in washed already and maybe Tamaryn can just pat dry as a tip and explain why she pats dry.
  • Six gun spice
  • Steak & chops spice
  • Olive oil
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Water
  • Rinse oxtail
  • Spice with six gun & steak & chops
  • Add to pot once oil is hot
  • Brown oxtail
  • Then add water
  • Allow meat to cook until soft (can be 2-3 hours) – Think just explain that it needs to cook for a 2-3 hours before adding your vegetables.
  • Once meat soft, add vegetables
  • Dombolo ingredients
  • Flour
  • Yeast
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Carrots
  • Add all ingredients:
  • 4 large spoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon yeast to 200ml luke warm water
  • Grated carrot

How To Make Oxtail & Dombolo

  1. Mix all ingredient, add more flour if too watery or more water if needed.
  2. Place dough in sun to rise .
  3. Once risen, place in pot and allow to cook.
