Puff Pastry Easter Nests

Easy and delicious treats for Easter that the little ones can help with!

Serves: 6-8
Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1/3 cup chocolate spread
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup chocolate mousse
  • ½ cup multi coloured eggs

How To Make Puff Pastry Easter Nests

  1. Preheat an oven to 180C and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the puff pastry on your work surface, spread the chocolate spread over half the puff pastry, leaving the other half clear.
  3. Fold the clear puff pastry side over the chocolate spread side and press down gently.
  4. Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut 1-2cm strips.
  5. Working a strip at a time, twist then swirl each piece and place on the baking sheet.
  6. Brush the swirls with egg wash and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes our until golden brown.
  7. Place the chocolate mousse in a piping bag.
  8. Once the swirls have cooled completely. Pipe chocolate mouse in the centre of each swirl.
  9. Top with the multi coloured eggs and enjoy!
