Purity Baby Pancakes

The weaning to solid food stage is fun for not only our little ones but for parents too – we love seeing the different expressions and reactions to the different tastes and textures. And once your baby is a pro at eating soft mashed foods and purees, they may be ready to move on to finger foods around 8 months which just brings so much exploring..

Serves: 2
Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

1 medium banana, with a few brown spots

1 large egg

1x 110ml Purity Apple , Mango & Oats 8 month Pouch

3 Tbsp flour

¼ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

1x 110ml Purity Custard & Prune with Vanilla flavouring 8 month pouch, for dipping

Method:

In a medium bowl, mash the banana until smooth with only a few lumps. Add in the Purity apple , mango & oats pouch and mix. Add in the flour, egg and cinnamon. Mix with a fork or whisk until everything is combined. Bring a medium skillet to a medium heat, spray with nonstick cooking spray or add a little butter if needed. Drop one tablespoon of batter in the skillet and let it cook for 3-4 minutes or until the sides are starting to firm and the bottoms have turned golden brown. You will not see any bubbles like traditional pancakes. Flip and cook for another 2/3 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve pancakes with the Purity custard & prune vanilla flavour 8 month pouch for dipping.

Chefs Tip:

  • Bananas are a great weaning food for babies 6 months and older as they’re easy to digest, already soft and mushy, and packed full of goodness. They also add that natural sweetness
  • This pancake recipe is the perfect finger food to give your weaning baby. Serve with a dip such as our Vanilla Custard & Prune 8 month Pouch for a great baby led weaning snack!
