How To Make Smashed Burger with Honey Glazed Bacon
- Combine mayonnaise with smoked paprika, a pinch of salt, and a crack of pepper.
- Set aside.
- Divide the mince into 2 loosely packed balls.
- Don’t overwork it—this helps keep them juicy.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until nearly crisp.
- Drizzle with honey and cook for another 1–2 minutes, flipping to coat and caramelize both sides.
- Remove and place on paper towel.
- Set aside.
- In the same pan with bacon drippings, cook onions until golden and soft.
- Add a touch of honey or butter if desired.
- Heat a cast iron pan or heavy skillet on high until smoking hot.
- Place one ball of mince in the pan and smash it flat with a spatula or burger press.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook for 2 minutes until edges are crispy and brown.
- Flip and immediately add camembert slices to melt.
- Cook another 1–2 minutes until cheese is gooey and meat is cooked through.
- Repeat for the second patty.
- Lightly toast your burger buns in the pan or under the grill.
- Spread paprika mayo on both sides of the toasted buns.
- Add a layer of lettuce on the bottom bun.
- Top with the smashed camembert burger.
- Add honey-glazed bacon, avocado, and caramelized onion.
